Tricks of the Trade

We had the best “trick-of-the-trade” this weekend… my Uncle Dwayne (Brittany’s dad) came to help us work on our basement! He arrived from the long, five hour Cleveland drive around 4pm on Friday. We discussed the plans until 6pm and then they began working… It is now 4pm.. on Sunday and I still hear the chain saw, hammering, and swishing from the cement being laid down.. To say that Dwayne, Jeremy, and Jens accomplished “A LOT” would be an understatement. It is unbelievable!!
Here are before and after pictures so you can try and appreciate the phenomenal changes to our basement living space.
Cast iron plumbing pipes from 1948
ALL the plumbing was redone
There was no using the bathroom, washing hands, running water
from 8:00am until 11:30pm on Saturday

Plumbing has never looked so beautiful...
See that black plumbing pipe across the ground? GONE! (This picture was taken August 21, painting the walls with water-sealant paint and smiling I might add.)
Now.. The plumbing pipes are perfectly covered with cement…
Before - Notice the hanging electrical wire? Now tucked up and away, all over the basement. Exciting!
